I’m Simone van Hattem, a twenty something living in Perth, Western Australia.
I was born in The Netherlands, moved to WA when I was five and lived in Perth, Bidyadanga, Nullagine and Bridgetown before moving back to The Netherlands when I was 14, though not before becoming a dual citizen. There I finished high school and studied Facilities Management at uni.
I came back to Australia after finishing my degree in 2004 and have lived in Perth since. My day job is in office administration.
I don’t have a technical or web background at all. I’d never had my own website until I discovered blogs in 2005, and started one for family and friends in The Netherlands (on blogspot).
Since April 2006 I have my website Enjoy Perth!, a blog and events calendar. The principle behind it is to bring all of Perth’s (bigger) events together in one place, and keep it simple by mainly just stating the facts and linking through to the ticket agencies for more info.
