Hosting

Update: because I’d already payed for the whole year, and the host I’m with has been good, I’ve decided to just upgrade to the next level (with 1% of bandwidth left to go, talk about last minute!). Thanks Myles for the help!
Trying to make some sense of hosting… I hate it when I don’t know [...]

Defamer Australia

I’d probably stay subscribed to the new Defamer Australia if they kept up with the Aussie content (and lost some of the US content), like an ad from Hey Dad! Did we have Channel 8 in Perth??
p.s. Duncan Riley and Andy Howard have similar issues with Defamer being not exclusively Aussie content.

Top 100 Aussie Blogs

Last week I (EnjoyPerth.net) entered Meg’s Top 100 Australian Blogs Index (based on the list in Craig Harper’s sidebar) at number 23, after finally getting my blog claimed at Technorati!
At the moment I’m ranked at 27, but that is still much higher than I was expecting.
How exciting, my first list!
On the one hand I’m quite [...]

Get Rodney out of jail!

Last minute post (because I forgot…), help Rodney Olsen get out of jail by donating for Cystic Fibrosis!
He’s broadcasting his radio show live from Fremantle Prison tomorrow morning, as part of Convicts for a Cause!
Read more about cystic fibrosis here.

Down South

We’ll be down in Margaret River for the weekend. First time we’ve done the whole ‘rent a proper (nice) house with friends’ thing. In the past it’s usually been a camping thing, or a cheap cabin, or staying with my parents, and it’s usually not Margaret River.
But our friends have not discovered much of that [...]

Bloggers Meet April

The busiest bloggers meet I think I’ve been to, and all thanks to Twitter! It really was half a Twitter meetup!
There’s now a Perthbloggers group on Flickr for photos.
Please join us next month, on a Wednesday night from 7pm at the Brass Monkey in Northbridge!
Also, I’ve been talking to Natalija about having a bloggers & [...]

Twitter part 2

Back in November (time flies) I first tryed twitter, but wrote it off a few days later. Now I started using it again, probably because it’s more lively in general (with people from Perth), and partly because it’s not always just about writing what you’re doing.
But I have just marked my account as private, so [...]

New camera

Again…
At the July Perth Bloggers Meetup I discovered (with Skribe) that I couldn’t change the ISO on my little Nikon point and shoot. So ever since then I’ve wanted a different one, as I do like to shoot a lot of photos in low light!
After a full week of research, I ended up buying the [...]

Webbys 2007

The Webby Awards (Oscars of the internet) are on again.
Two sites from Perth I use(d) regularly have received recognition: Perth International Arts Festival is nominated in the Events category, and PerthNorg was made an official honoree in the News category. Congrats to all involved!
The Perth Festival site is also eligible for a Peoples Voice Award, [...]
