Blog talk at Central Tafe – Friday

Dee alerts me to a post by Tamar about Christy Dena from Cross-Media Entertainment doing a 60 minute talk about blogging at Central Tafe in Leederville on Friday night (1 December) for the Australian Writer’s Guild.
More info at above posts. I can’t go, but if you end up going, make sure to let us know [...]

Events for Perth geeks and gamers

Nick from OneTwenty has started an events weblog for Perth geeks and gamers! Most events in there are slightly to geeky for me just yet, but I’ll keep an eye on it anyway! :D
Events on there at the moment include Massive 2006, Nullarbor Mixer 2006 and SIGGRAPH events. I’m sure they’ll also be keeping us [...]

Blogger meetup November

The Perth Blogger Meetup for November has been and gone (and now it’s only 4 weeks till Christmas, argh!).
Everyone was there nice and on time this week, including Rich, Simon, Dee, Nic, Bronwen and Grum.
If you’re interested in coming along to a meetup sometime (go on!), check out meetup.com.

Twitter and whooiz

I’ve added twitter and my flickr photos to the sidebar.
I just discovered Twitter through Kitta and Sarah at Velvet Unravelled. Seems like fun… and time wasting! :D
And another link for you: create your blogger profile at whooiz.com, mine’s here.

Australian NetGuide Awards

The Australian NetGuide Awards Finalists have been announced, and you can vote now!
Great to see two WA startups, perthnorg.com.au (media) and minti.com (parenting) in the mix, and gnoos.com.au, a search engine for blogs, in the new category!
Luckily you don’t have to place a vote in each category to contribute, because in some categories I don’t [...]

Flickr maps upgraded

I was just adding my new photos to the map in Flickr (I always forget, so just do them in bunches every now and again!), and I discovered I can zoom in much, much further than when they first launched!
Argh, now I will waste time and place my photos on the map more precisely! I [...]

Makeover

As you would have noticed if you visited this blog, Pascal has given it a big makeover!
We’ve installed the k2 theme, Pascal’s made a header with butterflies which refers to ‘newbie’, changed some colours around and probably some others things that I haven’t even noticed! I also added an about page, which is a work [...]

Blogging, google, media

Ok, I’ve been thinking about what to do with Enjoy Perth and my last stupid post! Ok, so it may not be great citizen journalism, it’s still a blog, and quite a lot more personal than some blogs out there (and very unpersonal compared to others).
I’m still not to sure about the ‘what we did’ [...]

Enjoy Perth is not great ‘citizen media’

I started Enjoy Perth with the intention of highlighting great things to do and see in and around Perth, and talk about what we did in Perth.
It’s turned into mainly an event listing, mainly because I wasn’t satisfied with other events listings around the place (very dissapointed in fact!!), and they are the easiest posts [...]
